What is Form?
Form is a leadership training year for emerging leaders with a sense of God's call on their lives. Spend a year being formed in your faith, learning new skills and experiencing life in Hackney, all at the heart of a thriving community.
How does Form work?
Form will help shape your life in four key ways:
First, theologically: we're thrilled to be partnering with St Mellitus College to bring you world-class theological input from leading theologians and teachers that will shape your mind.
Second, spiritually: through a 30-week programme of mentoring, discipleship, prayer and spiritual journey, you'll be challenged and shaped, laying foundations for your walk with God.
Third, practically: you'll be engaged in hands-on, practical ministry that will shape the day-to-day life of a fast-growing church, developing your leadership skills.
Fourth, culturally: based in the dynamic and creative heart of East London, you'll sharpen your gifts by being immersed in a dynamic, exciting and creative neighbourhood.
Who is Form for?
Form is ideally suited to young leaders with a passion for engaging in cultural renewal and spiritual formation. You might be a graduate on your way to a career, or a young person taking a year out to invest in your character and calling. We believe Form will be a life-changing experience for you.
When does Form run?
The programme runs from September 2018 to July 2019, You'll spend Sunday-Wednesday immersed in life at St John at Hackney: with a mixture of practical placement in ministry areas, and formational training. Thursday-Saturday are free for part-time work or further study:
Sunday you're at church serving in a key ministry area, seeing lives transformed and soaking it all up.
Monday is for ministry placement in the morning, then theology input in the afternoon.
Tuesday you're on placement with the staff team: prayer meetings, staff meetings, leadership meetings, practical stuff.
Wednesday mornings we gather for leadership, character and personal development, followed by time serving the community.
